Community Distribution Project
Community Distro Project (working title)
Purpose: The Community Distro Project (CDP) is a distribution service for community organizations and diy-projects, collecting flyers, pamphlets, and promotional materials from members and delivering them to a list of locations around the city. The CDP aims to support projects that often lack the time, energy, and resources necessary to carry out proper distribution of printed information. Distribution is done by a regular volunteer/staff/whatever, paid by members.
Project Philosophies:
Qualifications for participants: (adapt SeattleDIY calendar rules and core values)
Execution of project: In each neighborhood (identified later in doc) there will be a participant drop-off location (called a Hub). Participating organizations drop off items to be distributed at the nearest Hub each week. The distributor will pick up items at each Hub, and either the same day or the next day and distribute them to a predetermined list of locations.
Membership: * Definition of a 'member': payment ideas - monthly membership? weekly orders, cash drop off lock box? list of preferred organizations? prices scaled by need and size of group? alternative payment ideas (based on community pantry model)?
Organizational Structure: ? Distributor - ? SeattleDIY Collective -? Participating Organizations -? |
